Supervised Programs

Removing Barriers

Our supervised sports and recreation programs include the Hamilton Downtown Sports League and Annual Community Cup Tournament. The program removes barriers that prevents marginalized youth and families from participating in meaningful sports and recreation activities for the development of healthy lifestyles. We use sports and recreation to develop constructive after-school activities for diverse groups of youth.

Basketball

A co-ed basketball program promoting healthy lifestyles and skill building. Registration is mandatory.


Program Schedule:

Elementary (Ages 10- 13) – January 21, 2020 – April 21, 2020
> Tuesdays with the time to be determined

High School (Ages 14- 17) – October 1, 2019 – December 3, 2019
> Tuesdays with the time to be determined

Location: To be Announced

Age of participants: 10 – 13 and 14 – 17

Cost: FREE

A water bottle will be provided to each participant at the beginning of the program and snacks will be provided on the days of the program.  On the days of the program, participants must come prepared wearing appropriate clothing.

 

Makerspace

Providing children and youth with a collaborative environment to explore, learn and create. Registration is mandatory.

Community Cup

The event, in partnership with the Barton Street Festival is a free multicultural event centered in Hamilton that combines volunteerism and sport with community integration. The festival brings more than 20,000 people each year and the Community Cup features community-building activities, including live entertainment, soccer games, arts and crafts, Kids’ Zone and a community section where local agencies will be providing information regarding their services and programs.
