Axel Addy’s Birthday Fundraiser
A Birthday Gift of Discovery
As I celebrate another year of life, I’ve been reflecting on the spaces that shaped me. For me, as a teenager far from home, the library at Church Farm School was that place of discovery. I still remember my favorite librarian, Mrs. De Rafelo, pulling me aside to share the latest books—from Stephen King to John Grisham, then Ayn Rand. Each recommendation opened new worlds and ideas, sparking a lifelong love of reading and learning.
On my recent visit to Liberia, I felt that same magic at the Liberian Learning Center (LLC), a visionary initiative by Empowerment Squared. I saw young people reading, exchanging ideas, and entrepreneurs collaborating in incubators—a space alive with possibility.
When I asked how I could help, the answer was simple: more Library Cards for teenagers.
For just $20 USD per year, a Library Card provides a young Liberian with access to books, mentorship, and a safe, empowering space to learn and grow.
So this year, instead of gifts, I’m inviting you to celebrate with me by giving the gift of discovery.
$20 USD = One full membership package for a young Liberian for one year.
Your support will help young Liberians explore new ideas, pursue their dreams, and shape their futures. Together, we can turn curiosity into opportunity.
