The event, in partnership with the Barton Village Festival is a free multicultural event centered in Hamilton that combines volunteerism and sport with community integration. The festival brings more than 20,000 people each year and the Community Cup will feature community-building activities, including live entertainment, soccer games, arts and crafts, Kids’ Zone and a community section where local agencies will be providing information regarding their services and programs.

How can I get involved?

  • Play soccer by registering a team or as an individual/organization (soccer participants must be 15+)
  • Bring your family and friends for a fun day full of activities
  • Be part of the community tent by registering your organization to have a table
  • Volunteer

*There is a $100 registration fee for soccer teams which will be used towards water, equipment and snacks.  Registration forms can be emailed to or dropped off at our office (162 King William Street, Suite 103) along with the registration fee.
If the registration fee is a barrier, please let us know and we will try to accommodate.

Where is the Community Cup event?

The Community Cup event will be at Woodlands Park, at the corner of Barton Street E and Wentworth Street N. It is a great location, in a city park and as part of the Barton Village Festival, there will be Food trucks, children’s activities, live music and local vendors.

Why soccer?

It is the most international sport there is, anyone can play and it speaks every language. Soccer opens doors to newcomers as they play and connect with Canadians.  It is also the fastest growing sport in Canada and as Hamilton shows off its multicultural pride, a love for soccer will be at the center of it.

What is the Barton Village Festival?

It is a free event between Victoria Ave N & Sanford Ave N, on Barton Street where the street is shut down so the community can experience live music, food trucks, children’s activities and shop local.
