Manager, Finance

Reporting to the Director, Operations and Administration, The Manager, Finance, is responsible for managing, controlling, planning, organizing and supervising all financial functions and activities across all departments at Empowerment Squared. Reporting directly to the Director, Operations and Administration, this position is responsible for organizing and planning financial audits, evaluating reporting systems in place and developing new ones and managing numerous grant budgets. In close coordination with the Director of Administration & Operations, the Manager, Finance will also seek opportunities for continuous improvement relating to financial management and efficiencies.

This position requires and offers flexible hours, both from the employer and employee perspective and will be a hybrid working model of working remote and office work.

Manager, Development

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Manager, Development, is responsible for leading strategic fundraising efforts of the organization by designing, implementing, evaluating and refining fundraising activities and strategies, with an emphasis on major gifts. The Manager personally identifies, cultivates, solicits, and stewards major gift donors and prospects in accordance with performance targets set in collaboration with the board.

The successful candidate will be introduced to the organization’s current donors and prospects, and also be expected to develop new donors and prospects. A primary focus of this role is working closely with the Executive Director on a campaign to fund the building of the Liberian Learning Center, in Paynesville, Liberia.

The Manager fosters collaborative relationships with the board by coordinating joint solicitation efforts, developing internal processes and procedures, and aligning marketing and outreach efforts with fundraising goals. 

Coordinator, Professional Skills and Entrepreneurship (Hamilton)

The Coordinator, Professional Skills and Entrepreneurship, is responsible for implementing Empowerment Squared’s professional skills and entrepreneurship program as well as identifying opportunities to fill in programming gaps including the development of resources and curriculum to further Empowerment Squared’s mission and vision.

Working alongside fellow coordinators and the Professional Skills and Entrepreneurship team, the Coordinator, Professional Skills and Entrepreneurship will be responsible for planning, outreach, and administration in delivering professional skills and entrepreneurship programming as well as supporting the Southwestern Ontario Black Business network activities and operations in Hamilton, Ontario.

Coordinator, Professional Skills and Entrepreneurship (Windsor-Chatham)

The Coordinator, Professional Skills and Entrepreneurship, is responsible for implementing Empowerment Squared’s professional skills and entrepreneurship program as well as identifying opportunities to fill in programming gaps
including the development of resources and curriculum to further Empowerment Squared’s mission and vision.

Working alongside fellow coordinators and the Professional Skills and Entrepreneurship team, the Coordinator, Professional Skills and Entrepreneurship will be responsible for planning, outreach, and administration in delivering professional skills and entrepreneurship programming as well as supporting the Southwestern Ontario Black Business network activities and operations in Windsor-Essex and Chatham-Kent in partnership with Wetech Alliance.
