Youth Programs

Youth Programs

Join us as we offer both educational and sports and recreational online programming for youth between the ages of 4 and 18, who have completed a minimum of 6 months in an in person classroom or homeschooling.  We will be providing children and youth with mentoring and tutoring for academic success in preparation for a pathway to access post-secondary education.

Children and youth will be participating in meaningful physical activities for the development of healthy lifestyles and students who are struggling with their learning skills, work habits and language will be developing strategies to overcome these challenges.

All programs will be offered online through the Zoom platform and registration & regular attendance is mandatory.

E-Movement

A sports and recreation program promoting healthy lifestyles and skill building through meaningful physical activity. 


Program Schedule
September 15, 2020 – March 10, 2021

Location
Online (Zoom details to be shared once participant is registered)

Age of participants
Grades K – 3: every Tuesday from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm
Grades 4 – 8: every Wednesday from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm

Cost
FREE

On the days of the program, participants must come prepared wearing appropriate clothing. Empowerment Squared aims to prepare participants for post secondary education and/or employment therefore, regular, punctual attendance for participants is required.

 

Homework Circle

Working with volunteers, participants will receive help with completing their homework and assignments.  Participants will be required to share their report cards with the organization for reporting purposes and evidence to show how to best support the participants while at Homework Circle. Priority registration will be given to participants who are getting C’s and D’s, are ESL or ELL, or who have an IEP for learning in mainstream education.  Admittance to the program will be done on a case by case basis.

Home Alone Safety

Working with volunteers, participants will complete the SOS 4 Kids online program over four weeks which aims to empower youth to make confident choices, handle real life and prevent dangerous situations and live a safe life. By means of games, digital media, video and situational-based scenarios, youth will gain skills to create safe environments for themselves at home, school, online and in their communities. Fun and interactive, kids must earn 7 safety badges to successfully obtain the Home Alone Safety Certificate.

This program is for youth between the ages of 10 and 13, who are mature and responsible to stay home alone for a short period of time and where a clear safety plan is created for the youth and guardians in the event of an emergency.  This course does not certify youth to babysit.

Adult Programs

Join us as we offer both educational and sports and recreational online programming for parents, guardians and caregivers. Empowerment Squared’s adult programs empower parents, caregivers and adult allies to support their children and be active participants in the educational journey.

All programs will be offered online through the Zoom platform and registration & regular attendance is mandatory.

E-Movement

A sports and recreation program facilitated by Health Coach Malik Diaz, this program aims to promote healthy lifestyles, skill building and self care through meaningful physical activity.
