The Sports and Recreation program serves as an incredible tool for engaging and recruiting youth through sports. Originally started as United FC in 2007 to bring together a love for the sport and a constructive after-school activity for a diverse group of youth, the program continues to serve as an incredible gateway into our academic mentorship program like Homework Circle and Day on Campus.
In the summer of 2010, the team represented Canada at the Arsenal International Festival in London, England finishing second out of 8 countries in the Plate Competition.
During the fall, winter and spring seasons, the team conduct open practices on Wednesdays and Fridays where team building skills, coaching and drills are implemented. This year, the team is playing at Wentworth Arenas in the indoor soccer league with games on Sunday evenings at varying times.
Excluding games, practices are open to all youth under the age of 20 and volunteer coaches and mentors are always welcome.
