Hamilton, ON—It’s a sunny Saturday morning in June and you are standing on James Street North, surrounded by nine of your friends, holding guitars and singing “Hey Jude” by The Beatles at the top of your lungs. People are stopping to listen and they’re beginning to wonder what, exactly, is going on. “Well,” you say, “I’m ‘Busking a Move’ for Empowerment Squared!”
Empowerment Squared is proud to announce the launch of Busk a Move, a new fundraising initiative set to take place on Saturday, June 26, 2010. The event consists of 10 teams stationed around Hamilton, where they will sing, play music or do whatever it takes to raise funds.
Busk a Move is the first fundraiser of this type for Empowerment Squared and we are excited to be able to get people together to raise money for our major initiatives: ShAIDS of Grey, Kalamba Hospital Project, Liberian Library Project and Driven: Beyond Boundaries.
Here is a chance to raise money and have fun at the same time. Even if you don’t join a team, find a group in your neighbourhood and help support the 100 people who will be busking around Hamilton by making a donation.
To register for the event, please click here for more details and sign up with a team of approximately 10 people. The registration fee is $10 per participant, which covers any administrative fees and includes a cool t-shirt which can wear on the day and keep afterward.
Get involved in your community and help out on June 26 by Busking a Move!
